DEVELOPER DIARY 1: Jordan "Nusirilo" George
"So, I get the privilege of writing the first dev diary. Hmm, what to write about? First let me tell you a little about me. I'm a 15 year-old Canadian that enjoys long walks on the beaches with a full moon above my head. Ok, at least the first part is true. Anyways, I'm one of the first "First Strike" modelers/modders: joining only a few days after the mod began. Since I had only been modeling for a few months prior to this, I was quite lucky and happy that I got in. Now that I've settled within the team, I've been able to learn a lot of new techniques, discovered in part what it's like to make a game, and met a lot of cool people. It's definitely been a lot of fun "working" on this team.
Well, I guess I need to discuss what I've been up to this week with regards to the mod. Just as I've been doing for more than a month, this week involved more work on First Strike's first character model. Luckily, this week involved only the finishing touches on the model. A nip here, a tuck there, and he's basically ready to go. That's right; the first character model for First Strike is basically through the modeling phase. After I go through the horrid process of polygon reduction, this character, a rebel heavy trooper, will be ready for texturing. Of course, talk is all and good, but I'm sure you guys would like to have a little sneak preview of the soldier in question, am I right? Of course I am.
Well, that's about all that I have to say for this week. I hope that you're all still awake , and I hope that you have enjoyed the release of some brand new material. It's been fun to write this up, as this is my first dev diary. Anyways, I wish you peace, prosperity, and of course, may the force be with you, always.
